When I asked my 6 year old what he thought was the best thing about our weekend camping with the scouts, he answered immediately, "getting muddy".And get muddy he did. Lots of times.
It was one of those weekends where kids could really be kids.
Some children barely left the water; others discovered a passion for archery and shot arrows all day long. There wasn't a Nintendo in sight.

Ahhh....nothing beats good ol' mud for a little boy to play in. Kate, this looks like a fun outing and even better with the toasty goodness of a gooey marshmallow.

PS: gorgeous photos!!
It looks and sounds like you've had a magnificent time. Of course his favourite thing was getting muddy!!! Boys love the chance to do that without getting into strife!
I'm hoping for some gooey marshmallows on an open fire this week at Mr Busy's school camp.
Billy has just started his Scouting journey (3 weeks at Joeys so far and LOVES it!), so I'm looking forward to all of that too :)
I went right through Guides from Brownies to Rangers and have some great memories.
Cool - great photos.
Reminds me of numerous camping holidays as a kid. I was hopeless at rowing though

Wonderful pictures Kate. My kids all loved mud too.
Oh yes...I remember what muddy was like. I miss it....now I seem to be on the cleaning end of it. :)
Cute photos!
