For some time I have suffered from an aching back that has affected my ability to sleep. I have been working on improving my posture, especially when sitting at my desk at work and have been doing stretching exercises - all with limited effect. I eventually realised that my bed was part of the problem. We have had the same mattress an base almost our entire married life (18 years). The time had come to look for a new bed.
After shopping around, my husband and I chose a Federation-style timber bedstead and a firm but well-padded mattress, and today they arrived.
There was great excitement with everyone wanting to try out the new mattress.I can hardly wait to go to bed tonight!

I remember getting awful back trouble after going from an active job to a sitting one. They sent me off to a physio for Back Education and therapy. It took a while to recover but I haven't had trouble since.
It's a while ago now, but I remember a few things....
(warning unsolicited advice to follow)
1.lying flat is the best way to rest a back injury, second is standing... sitting is apprantly the worst
2.Re-jigg your work space, a foot step can help, change angles/heights of your screen.
3. Get up often and move, even if to walk accross the room to get a glass of water
4. I put a rolled up towel in the small of my back and later bought a commercial thingo in the same shape from the physio, it really helped.
Oh and that bed will be delicious. I remember the first night I slept in ours, about 4 years ago. Felt like I was on a cloud!
Isn't it nice to have a new bed!!
We also went for a solid timber frame with a reversible mattress. Lucky for us Dh is a wholesaler for the 'Crown' brand, made here in Melbourne. We got ours at cost ~ a massive saving. I love our 'new' bed. I hope yours helps your back.
I have a little award for you. You don't have to do anything except enjoy...unless you want to pass it on.
