The Last Broad Beans

The beauty of eating truly seasonally is that by the time we have eaten our way through a glut, whether broad beans or zucchinis, we can't bear the thought of eating them again until the next year's crop appears.

We are only just starting to pick our broad beans. The one vegie I am still not tired of at the end of its season is, asparagus. There's never too much.

And perhaps that is the secret to seasonal eating? By the time you've eaten a glut of one thing you're ready to move on the next seasonal delight

The broad beans in our nearby community garden went gangbusters this year. So many felafel! I'm about to make another batch today and it will be kind of sad making them sans BB--I should have blanched and frozen some.
