Look what the best husband in the world gave me for Christmas.
I have longed for a Kitchen Aid mixer for years, and especially since my old Sunbeam Mixmaster died last January, but I didn't ever think I would own one.
The mixer is a delight to use; I have already mixed bread dough and made a pavlova for our Boxing Day visitors.
I know many people don't like to get household appliances for Christmas, but for me this gift is a dream come true.

I think a KitchenAid is always a good gift to receive! I have a matching identical twin sitting on my bench. It is my best friend in the kitchen. I can't wait to hear and see the results of your new toy.
Hi Tracy, I'm glad our machines are sisters. I haven't used mine a lot yet, but it certainly makes a beautiful pav!
I have always shunned getting appliances for Christmas but for 2011 Christmas I (wished for and) got a Breville Kitchen Whizz and like the Kitchen Aid it is fantastic for bread dough kneading and mixing (and also has an icecream bowl attachment too).
Had I known about Thermomix I would have held out for one of those as I hear they are just amazing! Never mind, what I have is doing a great job.
